Introduction to the process requirements of hydraulic mechanical seal design:

  1. Before designing the hydraulic mechanical seal, we must first understand the design conditions of the mechanical seal. The main contents of the mechanical seal before design that we need to understand include:


◆What is the type of main engine that works on the hydraulic mechanical seal? The parts that need to be sealed, the working conditions, etc., including the medium pressure, the medium temperature and the rotational speed and axial direction of the shaft;


◆The name, composition and properties of the medium sealed by the mechanical seal, mainly including density, viscosity, concentration, saturated vapor pressure, PH value, whether it is corrosive, whether it contains suspended particles, etc., whether it is easy to crystallize or polymerize and other media factors;


◆What is the status of the working host of the mechanical seal? Whether it is continuous operation or intermittent operation and maintenance cycle, etc.;


◆Vibration and deflection of mechanical seal shaft;


◆Whether the leakage is allowable limit value;


◆What is the structure of the sealing part of the mechanical seal? Including the outer diameter of the shaft, the structure of the sealing cavity, the diameter in the sealing cavity, the assembly size of the sealing end face and the roughness of each surface;


◆How about the sealing auxiliary system of the mechanical seal? Including whether there is a water jacket in the sealed cavity, the temperature of the water, whether it has the conditions for flushing, whether there is a filter device, etc.


2. To clarify the basic structure of the mechanical seal:


◆Determine whether the seal adopts single end face, double end face or multi end face;


◆Determine whether the seal is balanced or unbalanced;


◆Determine whether the seal is internal or external;


◆Determine whether the seal is rotary (dynamic seal) or static (static seal);


◆Determine whether the seal adopts single spring or multiple springs, etc.

3 What is the main sealing material used in the mechanical seal? Determine the sealing end face friction pair, auxiliary sealing ring, elastic sealing element and sealing material of sealing parts.


4. To clarify the basic design parameters of the sealing end face of the mechanical seal? Including the width and height of the sealing surface, calculating the load factor of the mechanical seal, etc.
