Application of PTFE seals

The virgin PTFE sealing material is resistant to almost all hydraulic media, solvents and various chemical media, has a very low friction coefficient, no creeping phenomenon, and its temperature range is -55℃~260℃, chemical stability, ozone resistance, electrical insulation, it has excellent flame retardancy and weather resistance, and has a series of unique properties such as self-lubricity and non-stickiness, which is unmatched by other engineering plastics.

In order to improve the cold flow resistance, filler materials are usually added during manufacture. Virgin PTFE seals are particularly suitable for food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Filled PTFE is suitable for almost all working conditions. Generally, elastomer or springs are used as elastic parts to match with it. It is widely used in various industries such as hydraulics, compressors, and chemical industries.

Regardless of the mechanical equipment, the friction surfaces that slide against each other during operation need to be lubricated to reduce the friction factor, reduce the wear and heat of the parts, and ensure the precision, normal operation and power consumption of the mechanical equipment. PTFE low friction factor and self-lubricating properties make it widely used in the manufacture of materials for bearings, piston rings, machine tools and seals.

DSH oil seals for mechanical equipment made of PTFE can be used for a long time at a high temperature of +260 ℃, not only can withstand various media, but also work in the absence or absence of oil. The oil seals made of nitrile and acrylic rubber used in large quantities in the past can generally only be used at 150°C and are easily damaged in the absence of oil. Therefore, they are gradually replaced by PTFE oil seals.
