Description
These Internal Pressure Face Spring Energized Seals are designed to prevent internal pressure or media exiting between two faces. This seal has low friction should there be movement between the surfaces. Conversely, when designing systems that seal equipment from external pressure, the groove's the inside diameter (ID) is primary. This design technique minimizes movement of the O-ring in the groove due to pressure, thereby virtually eliminating wear and pumping leakage. If this principle is used, groove diameters larger or smaller than indicated may be used.
Internal Pressure Face Spring Energized Seals are used for static, slow-rotating, or oscillating equipment such as low-temperature flange seals or cap applications. High seal loads and face seals are ideal for gas and vacuum applications. Depending on the application, there are a variety of sealed jack materials and power types.
