The main characteristics of fluororubber are high temperature resistance and chemical resistance, good anti-aging and anti-ozone properties, and very low air permeability. Very good abrasion resistance even under very harsh working conditions. Fluoroelastomers can withstand operating temperatures of +200 degrees or below, and also allow short-term oil-free operation.
Fluorine rubber can resist oil, hydraulic oil, fuel oil, lubricants, inorganic acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., but in the presence of compounds such as esters, ethers, ketones, certain amines and high temperature fluorine water hydrogen, etc., Viton should not be used.
Under normal working conditions and working temperature below +200 degrees, fluororubber is very stable and harmless.
However, when encountering high temperatures above 300 degrees, such as the flame of a gas cutting gun, fluororubber will release harmful gases. Inhalation of these gases or in the eyes can cause damage to human health.
Once the fluororubber sealing ring is heated to a high temperature of more than 300 degrees, it will be dangerous to handle even after cooling, so it must not be in any direct contact with the skin.
If you need to handle fluoroelastomer sealed bearings that have been exposed to high temperatures, the following safety precautions should be observed:
(1) Wear goggles, protective gloves and suitable breathing apparatus during the entire disassembly process; (2) Put the removed sealing ring in a sealed plastic container and mark the container with "corrosive material;"
(3) Strictly follow the safety precautions in the material safety instructions. If you accidentally come into contact with a fluororubber sealing ring that has been exposed to high temperature, wash your hands with soap and plenty of water or rinse your eyes with plenty of water, and see a doctor immediately. If you inhale the harmful gas released by fluororubber, you must go to the hospital immediately.
