Seas installation points and precautions

May 25, 2022

Before installing the seal, please observe the following points:

1. Ensure that the piston rod has lead-in chamfer; if not, please use the mounting sleeve.

2. Deburr and chamfer or round sharp edges; cover the threaded end of the bolt to prevent scratching.

3. Remove machining residues, such as dust, chips and other foreign particles, and clean all parts.

4. It is easier to install if the piston rod and seal ring are greased or oiled. Be sure to pay attention to the compatibility between the seal material and these lubricants. Please use no solid additives (such as molybdenum disulfide or zinc sulfide) of lubricating oil.

5. Use non-sharp-edged installation tools for installation in split grooves

6. There is no problem in installing seals in open grooves. The installation sequence should be consistent with the configuration of the seals. Therefore, please note that no twisting is allowed after each seal is installed in the groove. During installation (that is, insert the piston rod into the groove) Before the sealing ring), the seals with elastomer force or spring force must be restored. When using a piston rod with a long guide column or using a mounting guide sleeve, it also has a leveling function.
