Differences Between Internal And External Mechanical Seals
Nov 15, 2022
Since the internal mechanical seal has good stress, the specific pressure increases with the increase of medium pressure, and the leakage direction of the internal mechanical seal is opposite to the centrifugal force, the internal mechanical seal is generally selected. Only when the medium is highly corrosive and the pressure dual mechanical seal is not considered, the external mechanical seal can be considered.
Features of built-in mechanical seal:
1. It can be used in the environment with high temperature and pressure;
2. Good stress and excellent sealing performance;
Features of external mechanical seal:
1. Suitable for low pressure or negative pressure environment;
2. The moving ring is installed outside the stuffing box for convenient inspection and adjustment;
3. Due to the process relationship, most parts are not in contact with the medium, are not easy to be corroded, and are easy to install and maintain;
