Piston Rotary Glyd Ring Solved The Customer's Piston Sealing Problem

Nov 28, 2021

On July 21st, a certain technical university in Shanghai found our company (DSH Seals) through the Internet channel, using the search term of the V-packing, and needed to purchase a batch of products.

The customer's situation is: the piston shaft diameter is 35, the slot width of the hole is 3+-0.2, the groove depth is 7.5, the pressure is 2-3mpa, the medium No. 10 aviation hydraulic shaft, the temperature is 20-80℃, and there is no rotation speed, which belongs to the dynamic seal. It is very small. The piston squeezes the oil in the sealed tank and moves forward about 0.2 mm.

This structure is similar to a hydraulic shock absorber. The piston squeezes the oil in the cylinder, and it needs to be sealed with the cylinder. Ask the person in charge of our company for any suitable seal recommendations.

After many discussions, the person in charge of our project combined with the company's situation and recommended piston rotary glyd ring. The piston glyd ring is composed of a low-friction filled PTFE sealing ring and an O-ring. It is a dual-function rotating sealing ring that can be subjected to the working pressure on both sides or alternately changing the working pressure. The cross-sectional dimensions of PTFE are different. One or two annular grooves can be produced and processed to create a grease cavity, which reduces sliding friction and increases the specific pressure of the sealing surface. The actual sealing effect is very good.
