What Is Spring Energized Seal?

Jan 24, 2022

The spring  seal is called a spring energized seal, which is a type of seal with a special spring built into the U-shaped seal, or a high-performance seal with a special spring built into the U-shaped ring. The fluid pressure of the system is increased, and the sealing lip is pushed out and lightly pressed against the sealed metal surface to generate an excellent sealing effect. The actuation effect of the spring can overcome the slight eccentricity of the metal mating surface and the wear of the sealing lip, while maintaining the expected sealing performance.

U-shaped spring energized seals are mainly used in:

1. Axial or hole seals for rotary joints of loading and unloading arms;

2. Paint valve parts or special seals for paint systems;

3. Special seals for vacuum pumps or pump equipment;

4. Special seals for beverage, water, beer filling machinery and food industry equipment;

5. Special seals for automobiles and industries, such as power steering machines (dynamic seals);

6. Special seals for measuring equipment;

7. Seals for process equipment or pressure vessels.
