Introduce The Difference Between Rotating And Stationary Forms in Mechanical Seals
Nov 10, 2022
The difference between rotary mechanical seal and static mechanical seal is whether the spring of mechanical seal rotates with the shaft. If the spring rotates with the shaft, it is a rotary mechanical seal, while the spring does not rotate with the shaft, it is a static mechanical seal;
The elastic element of rotary mechanical seal is a common structure with simple device and small radial size, but it is not suitable for high-speed conditions; Used in common mechanical seals, it has the characteristics of good sealing performance and long service life;
As the spring does not rotate with the shaft, the static mechanical seal is not affected by centrifugal force. It is often used in high-speed mechanical seal equipment. In addition to being suitable for high-speed mechanical seals, it is also often used in the special environment of bellows mechanical seal in high-temperature media. It is a mechanical seal with high stability under special working conditions.
Generally, rotary mechanical seals are used as common seals. However, when the shaft diameter is large, the speed is high, and the seal circumferential speed reaches 25m/s, static mechanical seals should be used because of the large centrifugal force generated by springs and other rotating elements, high dynamic balance requirements, and large mixing power consumption. The type of seal to be used depends on the situation.
