Analyze The Performance Of Rubber Seal Ring
Nov 11, 2022
In general, what are the aspects of detecting seals
1. First, the finite element analysis and calculation model of the seal ring is established; 1. Analyze the constitutive model of rubber materials; 2 Establish finite element model;
2. Secondly, the calculation results and the parameters of the analysis model; 1. Deformation and stress distribution under different pre compression ratios; 2. Deformation and stress distribution under different medium pressures; 3. Effect of pre compression ratio on sealing ring performance; 4. The influence of medium pressure on the performance of sealing ring;
Analyze according to the seal ring inspection data:
1. When the medium pressure is 0, with the increase of the pre compression ratio, the stress concentration expands from the dumbbell like position on the upper and lower sides to the middle area and both sides and increases continuously. Therefore, when the compression is large, it is easy to cause the stress relaxation of the seal ring, permanent deformation, elasticity reduction, and loss of sealing capacity;
2. When the pre compression ratio is constant, with the constant increase of the medium pressure, the sealing ring part is squeezed into the gap, and the maximum stress also moves from the middle area to the right. Finally, the maximum value is reached at the corner contact part of the sealing ring and the sealing groove, which is often the place where the sealing ring is sheared and damaged. Therefore, when the medium pressure is high, it is necessary to place a retaining ring at the low pressure side of the sealing ring to protect the sealing ring from sealing failure.
3. In the pre compression state, the contact stress on the contact surface is distributed in a parabola. With the increase of the pre compression ratio of the seal ring, the contact stress and the contact length increase continuously, and the maximum contact stress increases in a nearly linear manner, which is conducive to enhancing the sealing effect. However, too large the compression ratio will cause greater residual deformation and stress relaxation of the seal ring, resulting in leakage, Therefore, under the condition of ensuring effective sealing, appropriate pre compression should be selected.
4. When the pre compression ratio is constant, the contact stress and contact length of the contact surface increase with the increase of the medium pressure, and the maximum contact stress is close to the linear law, which is consistent with the self sealing characteristics of the seal ring.
