Characteristics Of Gas Spring Of Automotive Oil Seal Components.
Feb 21, 2022
Automobile oil seals, as the name suggests, are sealing parts that should be used in automobiles, and are mainly made of elastomers. The function of automobile oil seal is to prevent leakage or sound insulation and shock absorption. Most automotive oil seals are made of rubber, and the elastic elements in mechanical seals are made of metal and non-metallic sealing materials. Four different applications such as torsion bar springs and rubber springs, and different sealing material products, so as to achieve the final "sealing effect".
What is a gas spring?
The gas spring is filled with compressed gas in a sealed container, and the compressibility of the gas is used to achieve its spring effect. The stiffness of this spring is variable, because when the load acting on the spring increases, the quantitative gas pressure in the container increases, and the stiffness of the spring increases. On the contrary, when the load decreases, the air pressure in the spring decreases and the stiffness decreases, so it has ideal elastic characteristics.
So, what are the types and characteristics of gas springs used in automotive seals?
The gas springs in automobile seals are mainly divided into two categories: "gas springs" and "air springs". According to the small ones, there are more. Let's take a look at the characteristics of "membrane air springs" in automotive sealing, shall we?
Membrane air spring is composed of rubber diaphragm, cover plate, base and so on. The working principle of the membrane air spring is the same as that of the bladder air spring, but the rigidity of the membrane air spring is smaller than that of the bladder air spring, the size is small, and it is easy to install on the car, but it is difficult to manufacture and has a short life.
The air spring has a small mass and a long service life. Once the air leak springs, the spring will fail. Compared with the leaf spring, it occupies more dimensions in the lateral direction of the car, so it is difficult to arrange. Air springs can only withstand vertical loads, so air springs are used as elastic elements, and the suspension is also equipped with shock absorbers and guide mechanisms.
