How To Correctly Choose The Reciprocating And Rotating Dynamic Seal Ring?

Jan 04, 2022

A dynamic seal ring refers to the seal between relatively moving parts in a machine (or equipment). Dynamic seals are divided into two types: reciprocating dynamic seals and rotary dynamic seals. Reciprocating dynamic seals include forming packing seals, stuffing box seals and expanding ring seals. Then, there are so many kinds of sealing forms for dynamic seal rings, how to choose the appropriate dynamic seal ring? (Table 1 - Dynamic Seal Ring Selection Guide Reference Table)

How to estimate the actual cost effect of the seal ring? In addition to the original cost of the seal ring, several parameters must be considered. This is an obvious fact, but often overlooked when comparing the prices of alternative seal rings. More specifically, not all parameters involved can be considered. For example, the relative cost of U-rings may be ten times that of O-rings, but this does not mean that in specific applications, the two have the same cost effect, for example, U-rings are more durable than O-rings ten times. Many customers still want to compare alternative seal forms on this basis.

The above information and parameters are for reference only, subject to the actual situation.
