Description
Dust wiper DAI is a single-acting elastomeric dirt wiper with bearing segments. The ratio of the wiping lip ensures that it remains in contact with the surface of the rod to remove large amounts of deposited contaminants such as mud and ice. The outside diameter of the wiper incorporates a crush lip to provide an interference fit with the housing. This feature help prevent contamination from entering the groove.
Dirt, dust, and moisture must not contaminate the working medium and, most importantly, must be kept away from the pressure seal edges. Depending on the application, a simple wiper with or without metal reinforcement and a double wiper with or without pressure relief can be used. DAI wipe seals can be used with mineral oil and many other types of hydraulic fluids. Special versions are available for use at high ambient temperatures. Care must be taken to ensure that there is no pressure buildup inside the wiper, including grease lubricant pressure.
